Yao Zhang is a Post-doc Research Assistant of Electrical Engineering at he University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK). He has over 7 years experiences on electric power system analysis and research. He has applied various statistical and optimization techniques to the development of algorithms and tools for power system operation, such as energy forecasting, unit commitment, transmission expansion planning and renewable integration. His research interest includes renewable energy probabilistic forecasting and decision-making theories under risk and uncertainty.
Yao Zhang received the bachelor, master and doctor degrees from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China, all in electrical engineering, in 2010, 2013 and 2016 respectively. He is currently working as a post-doc research assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
